  1. Decided to hang up Subway Creatures indefinitely
  2. Completed a handball one shot
  3. Submitted the other one shot to One Shot program but got no response.

Hanging Up Subway Creatures

I made the decision to hang up Subway Creatures. So sad, so sad. I thought my time with it was going to be much longer. I think it was when I started working on Weaky (the one shot I'll talk about a little later) that I realized I could have way more fun with other projects. I'll be honest, I don't know what I was expecting with it - I was hoping it would be something I could work on, long term, and try out a bunch of ideas. However, that quickly devolved into "why am I even doing this - I don't have direction."

I was focused on getting pages out, rather than what was happening on those pages. I have some good panels I am proud of, and am glad I was able to get the drawings out - but the story wasn't what I wanted it to be. I think it was also because I had just watched "The Wild Robot", and the story made me remember that I got into comics not because I wanted to draw well, but because I wanted to tell stories with IMPACT. Subway Creatures was not that.

So, I decided to hang it up. You can read chapter 1 and chapter 2 here.

Completed a handball one shot

I decided to make a sports on shot as my final project of 2025. I wanted to do something with action, and I had just started playing again. I wanted to make something quick, but also something I felt good about. Hence, the creation of this story.

It was fun to draw. Not much else to say about it. It was definitely a good way to get over the slump I was feeling regarding Subway Creatures. There's not really an overarching plot...just the intensity of the game.

Submitted the other one shot to a One Shot program but got no response.

I think I can talk about this now. I drew a one shot called "Weaky". I was and am VERY proud of it. I think it showcases my storytelling, and is the best story I've ever drawn.

I think the story is pretty simple. A girl gets rejected, winds up going to the gym. She struggles, but finds someone to help her out. Gets rejected again, and falls into a depressive state - but comes out and goes HARDER in the gym hahaha. She has a training arc, then winds up entering a powerlifting competition. It's a ton of fun.

But yeah, I had a lot of fun with it. I submitted it to a place in November, and still haven't heard back - so I think it's safe to assume it wasn't picked. I just wish I could get some feedback on it...

Either way, I'm going to ink and finish it Summer 2026. I like the story too much to leave it unfinished..and it's only 54 pages - so why not =). I'll post it on the site when it's complete.

So what's next?

I've been thinking a lot about what I'm doing next. I had a lot of fun this year working on the Weaky one shot, and I think I want to work on another one. I have an idea that involves scam calling and dice that I'm currently writing, and I think that's going to be the main focus of 2026. I also want to make a book. I've been putting in a lot of work drawing, but currently don't have anything physical to show for it.

So in 2026, I'll draw at least 200 pages of this story before letting it go.

I don't have much to show for it now...but maybe by the next update.

And yeah, I think that's it! I'm excited for what I do in the new year. I am so happy I have found this hobby, and I am glad I can continue to engage with it.
